Prior, he conducted research focuses on credit management and sustainability of microfinance; whereby this work combines insights from finance, microfinance and cooperative management. At the time, Few analyses have been produced countrywide to look at sustainability among SACCOs, The main issue attempted in this study was to establish whether credit management significantly influences the level of sustainability in the selected SACCOs within Western Province of Rwanda.  Research findings portrayed that the level of credit management was at satisfactory degree with the overall mean value of  2.67 because it was ensuring better process of loan application, disbursement, recovery even if some items under loan repayment process were still low; whereas the level of sustainability in the selected SACCOs was still low with the overall mean of 2.40. Under this variable, some items under HR sustainability were satisfactory while market and legal sustainability were not because they were still low. The study found out that there was a positive significant relationship between the study variables at (r=0.980, R-Squared value 961; Mean Squares 160.066 and F value of 316.884E3 and p<.0.01; finally sustainability theory was affirmed but the null research hypothesis was rejected, then the researcher concluded that rigidity of credit management was highly likely to compromise sustainability whereby the recommendation was to improve credit management in order to enhance sustainability of the selected SACCOs.
