KP Continues to Strengthen Its International Collaborations and Partnerships with Leading Global Universities

From 20th to 25th September 2025, a team of KP top managers, composed of the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Dariya Mukamusoni, and the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs, Prof. Viateur Ndikumana, undertook an official visit to Babeș-Bolyai University (BBU) in Romania. The main purpose of the visit was to learn from BBU’s academic and administrative practices, explore potential areas of collaboration, and gain insights into international best practices in higher education management, research development, and quality assurance. The visit also aimed at strengthening institutional partnerships and enhancing the international visibility of KP through academic exchange and cooperation.

BBU is the largest university in Romania, with about 50,000 students and 11 campuses. Established in 1581 as Academia Claudiopolitana, the institution has undergone several reorganizations over the centuries, eventually taking its current form in 1959 following the merger of Bolyai University (founded in 1945) and Victor Babeș University (founded in 1919).BBU consistently ranks first in the University Metaranking, initiated by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research in 2016. It offers study programmes in Romanian, Hungarian, German, English, and French, as well as a select number of Master’s programmes taught in Spanish, Italian, and Japanese.

Moreover, BBU is a member of the Universitaria Consortium, a prestigious group of five elite Romanian universities dedicated to advancing excellence in education and research.
